Hope

I named her Sunshine, after the light that shined on all my dreams. She was everything you could ask for in a companion, she played as if there were infinate time, slept like the peacefulness you imagine in future comings, and she ran into my arms as if there were no warmer place. It was a calm day when I thought there could be no better fate than this. I threw her frisbee into the faint blue sky and watched as she chased after it, getting further and further in distance. I watched the horizon and waited for her return. I waited for those blue eyes to show me the life in her catch, her stride to burst life into my hopefulness, and for her warm brown fur to appear from the oblivion.

New Starts

Again I awoke to a glowing colorful morning sky. The day couldn't have been more free of stress and worries. I had a smile on my face from the moment I had waken, to this afternoon while I was sitting at the shelter. Ready to take my new best friend home. She was golden brown and her fur shined under the sun. She had the most beautiful blue eyes that reminded me of an ocean filled with surprise and life. I knew she was excited to see me, because she hopped up on my lap the moment we locked eyes. The only thing left to do was show her where to rest her head.

Evening

The sun had said goodnight and the moon had said good evening. I thought of the moon as a peaceful beacon gleaming to guide you home in case of lost wandering. Though you could never be lost, because wherever you were here, it was home. There was always someone happy to welcome you into their home. I lie awake in my sheets and wondered about how the stars of the night can shine so bright. I wanted to shine like the sun and the stars.

Morning

Today, I watched the sun rise. I was in love with the way it would never let me down. Every morning, there it was. Lighting up the morning sky and letting me know that I had the chance to become someone new. Though, I never wanted to be. As I sat on my porch awaiting noon to awake, I was joined by my loving husband. He had to most gentle smile that was almost identical to the sunrise. He put his arm around me and before I knew it, I had gazed off.

The Beginning

The sun was a shine and the world couldn't have been cleansed of anything more foul than a freshly bloomed tulip. The days were slow here, wherever that was. I didn't know if there was anywhere else out there to be. I mean, this was my place. It was all mine and the eyes of others upon it didn't matter to me. All of the flowing trees through the cool crisp wind could make this place shake with beauty. Although, it feels like I'm the only one to notice.
